Who makes it

Feng Shui Bedroom Design (fengshuibedroomdesign.com) is a bedroom layout planner made and run by an independent developer. Questions, corrections and feedback go to support@fengshuibedroomdesign.com; see the Contact page for what to include.

Why it exists

Bedroom feng shui advice is scattered across books and blog posts, it often disagrees with itself, and it is rarely checked against the room you actually have: can the door open fully, can you walk around the bed, does the wardrobe still fit? The planner lets you draw your real room and furniture, then shows what a layout passes and fails, with the reason for each result, so you can decide for yourself.

How a layout is checked

Three separate layers are kept apart, so a good feng shui score can never hide a real-world problem.

  • Feasibility. Collisions, furniture out of bounds, blocked doors and safety clearances are hard constraints. A layout that fails them is not ranked.
  • Daily function. Bedside access, door-swing interference and direct air flow are scored as practical trade-offs you can read and argue with.
  • Feng shui. Eight traditional bedroom rules, each shown with its school, an evidence grade and its sources.

Where the 8 rules come from

The planner checks 8 rules: the bed is not directly aligned with a door (including a bathroom door); the headboard rests against a solid wall; the headboard is not under a window; reflective surfaces do not face the bed; the bed is in the command position; there is no loose clutter under the bed; there is no overhead pressure above the bed; and no nearby sharp corner points at the bed.

Each rule was written from published feng shui guides and articles, and the planner shows the sources behind it. Traditions disagree, so every rule carries an A/B/C evidence grade:

  • A: supported across several independent sources.
  • B: specific to one school of feng shui.
  • C: lower confidence.

If you think a rule or a source is wrong, please tell us.

What it does not do

  • It is not fortune-telling. It does not predict luck, money, health or relationships, and it does not claim that moving a bed will change any of them.
  • Traditional preferences are presented as traditions, with their evidence grade, never as facts. Tools such as the Kua number calculator are marked as being for entertainment.
  • It does not replace architectural, electrical, fire-safety or medical advice.
